Brown Kids Media creates diverse content and characters that entertain, educate, and empower all children. Our Brown Kids Media Lab was created to help train the next generation of black and brown writers to fill the gap of diverse writers in the television industry. New Media Lab session coming Spring 2024.

About The Founder
Maria Perez-Brown is the creator of Nickelodeon’s Emmy-nominated series, Gullah Gullah Island and the tween series, Taina. She is the author of Mama: Latina Daughters Celebrate Their Mother and the preschool book series, Zuri Pi Wonders Why.
Perez-Brown teaches television writing at Columbia University School of the Arts. She earned her JD degree from NYU Law School and her BA from Yale University.
Perez-Brown is currently launching BOMBA KIDS, a You Tube Channel for preschoolers and a new kids podcast series called Ghost Pets.
